What do I mean by the title?
I mean exactly that, “your life is heading toward collapse.” The collapsing of your multi-tiered shanty of a life or your sleek skyscraper of a life, from all heights you will fall and hit rock bottom.
Human beings have been participating in the collapse/expand, expand/collapse model for thousands of years. We look around ourselves and see only potentials, a potential for more resources, a potential for grand structures, the potential to overpower or become overpowered. These potentials breed fear in us and then we invite desperation to move us. Fear has us believe in illusions of lack, that need physical experiences and materials to fill. Desperation then motivates us to act and build — rarely do we realize that what we are building with and how we are building our lives has only one possible outcome: collapse.
What materials are you using to build your life? Unsustainable materials. The impermanent physical world that surrounds you. You’re building your life with material assets, social circles, new things, new people, new places.
What motivates you to build your life? Fear of nature. Fear of others. Fear of losing. Self-doubt. Putting conditions on love. To name a few.
Ultimately, your building a life with unsustainable materials and a weak approach. The poor structure of your life no matter how it might be cloaked in physical fortune, is just waiting to be knocked down by a strong gust of wind. A life collapse is the fall of a weak structure. Your life is too weak right now to handle emotional, spiritual, and physical curveballs. Your deeper self knows this. It is the creator of your collapse — by design a collapse is the destiny of any life built with the perception of a false reality.
Why is your life heading toward collapse?
You are perceiving a false reality. A reality that reveals to you rules, structures, parameters of play.
A modern person looks at a rock and says, “hey, a rock!” A clown looks at a rock and says, “hey, another juggling ball.” A scientist looks at a rock and says, “hey, a geode formed by trillions of atoms!” A shaman sees a rock and says, “hey, it’s the whole universe folded in on itself.” These are all different perceptions of the same reality. Are any of them false statements? Maybe the shaman has been hitting the peace pipe too hard?
Statements are born from perception. If perception is focused on a false reality, illusions are built to create coherency. That being said, we’re all heading towards collapse because we believed in the reality we were reared to believe, and then we acted and created our life to maximize our controls for protection and stability within an illusive world.
Why is your perception of reality false? You look at your life and say things like, “I’m a person that needs to do x to get y,” and “my poor circumstances are due to the oppressive world around me.” Those two statements have you grabbing at straws to build your life rather than tapping into the fully constructed cathedral of your self. This isn’t make-believe. Within you is an established estate. It might be dusty from neglect, but it’s there. In that estate you can begin to express your life in and out of the rules of society as you please — your estate, like mine, is not within the province of any governmental control, so to speak.
The straw house you’ve been living in is at the mercy of megalithic beasts or merely the occasional wind or fire. Your life is heading toward collapse because it chooses to live under the tyranny-induced perception that you are a victim and there’s nothing you can do about it. That waiting for the beasts to get you or the wind and fire to destroy you, are the only options available. But options are a subject of perception. Creative perception, unhindered by the illusion of control, finds other options. Your estate is equipped to handle whatever is happening outside of you as a consequence of what’s happening inside of you.
Residing in your estate is perceiving reality in its totality and finding a powerful relationship with it that protects as much as it empowers you to grow. Anything short of the immutable estate within you are merely structures expanding towards collapse.
When will your life collapse?
As soon as enough controls are forcibly loosened by your specific, intentional process or by physical circumstances — the storms that blow into your life. Preparing and surrendering to the collapse is an art whereby all of us, including you, has their own unique approach and style. Furthermore, your physical circumstances might be different but you are just as much on your way to collapsing, with mini-collapses preceding it. The “when” of your collapse depends on your awareness of it. The more aware you are of the dissatisfaction of your straw house, the sooner you can slowly unbuild.
The difference in the end between being aware and not being aware of your collapse is the same.. collapse. But your sensitivity, focus and your spiritual ability to adapt to change depends on your awareness that your life is unraveling and offering a deeper perceptions of reality. With that deeper perception you will collapse as slowly and gently or as quickly and aggressively as you’d like.
Where will your life collapse?
Anywhere you find yourself when the last tremor gives way to the quake. Not to freak you out, but your inevitable collapse, if not taken seriously, most often turns into death — diseases, drug-use, organ failure, suicide. With contemplation and creative perception a collapse offers you a treasure trove of self realizations. With enough illumination you will know exactly where the final straw of your collapse will be. You will be the one plucking it.
